Life at MPG

“I've never worked at a company that invests anywhere near the same amount of money, effort and time into their employees' wellbeing. I feel extremely well taken care of.”

We are people-first

What’s all the fuss about?

Not only do MPG help to make awesome games, we’re also pretty passionate about ensuring that we do that in the right way.

For MPG, this means maintaining a people-first, remote-friendly culture where the team can feel comfortable and secure in their roles. It’s running a business that’s financially sustainable and cares about its impact on the planet. And it’s championing a diversity and inclusion strategy that supports the industry in becoming a more equitable place for everybody.

Happy people produce great results

Wellbeing is the bedrock of our People strategy. Everything we do is with this in mind and we’re really proud of our consistently high engagement score of over 9. We know our teams perform better when they are healthy, motivated and focused, and that’s only possible with meaningful work and a good work-life balance.

Health and wellbeing

We offer a range of support to help you maintain your well-being, including mental health first-aiders, therapy and coaching through our partner Myndup, private medical insurance, dedicated period and menopause policies, and an exercise class live-streamed weekly from the UK office.

By weaving wellbeing into our regular conversations and responding to feedback, our people know they are valued and supported.

Family friendly

Family comes first. We offer parental leave to support your journey as a parent or caregiver, giving you the flexibility to balance your professional and personal responsibilities.

“Remote working suits me, I'm more relaxed, more focused, less stressed and much happier. Having a baby and being able to see him every morning when he wakes up is priceless." Claudia Cañada Luna - Software Engineer

Pet friendly

Pets are part of the family. They take centre-stage at our stand-ups, get their own invite to our socials and milk our remote-friendly culture.

If you’re working from our Nottingham HQ, our office features dog-friendly zones, complete with cosy resting areas, water stations, and plenty of toys to keep our furry friends entertained.

Not to mention our most popular Slack channel - #pets.

Getting together

With our team spread far and wide, we're always looking for ways to bring our people together, whether that's online or in person.

Every team member has a dedicated entertainment allowance for socialising with others, and they're using it towards activities such as go-karting, meals out, and even fancy breakfasts over Zoom. We also have dedicated Slack channels to huddle in, and organise virtual coffees, for those who want to chat to others during their work day.

Of course it's not all play! We organise monthly company-wide meetings to keep you up to date on what's going on around the company and we run a series of very popular Expert Talks, giving everyone the opportunity to learn from each other, as well as Tea Times with Andy (our CEO!)

Career progression

Whichever path you wish to take, there’s endless ways to earn XP. We know recognition is important to our team, so everyone has regular reviews and progression plans specific to their role.

Everyone at MPG has access to an annual Learning & Development budget and a dedicated learning hub, as well as monthly Expert Talks and mentoring opportunities, where we can learn from one another.

If you want to flex those creative muscles, our programme of Game Jams might be right up your street. We spend time exploring new opportunities and tech, in everything from UEFN to AI.

Truly remote-friendly

We were remote-friendly way before it was cool. We want to give you the flexibility you need to perform your best at work, and look after your home life too, so we have core hours that make room for real life.

Our teams can work from the Nottingham HQ, from home, or a combo of the two.

Inclusion and belonging

Our power-up of choice? Diversity.

At MPG, gaming unites us, but we’re all very different. Diversity makes us who we are and gives us the edge.

It’s well known that companies with broader representation within their teams have increased levels of innovation - but we think it takes us a step further. For us, DIB isn’t a tick-box exercise, it’s something we actively celebrate and encourage, so our team benefits from a great culture, the freedom to learn and pride in their job.

“I can honestly say that this is the best job I have had. The family atmosphere at MPG is second to none. The fact that everyone pulls together and helps out each other on whatever they need is great.

I haven't experienced a company before with people that have so much knowledge and wisdom - from people fresh to the company that have all the ideas of new tech, to veterans who can share their knowledge with everyone - and in a way where everyone is treated as an equal and we just want to help and develop people and the company as much as we can.”

Andy Allen - Senior QA Engineer

Giving Back
Proudly
Giving back

Our giving back philosophy is centred around our local communities, education, and sustainability.

We’re very fortunate at MPG to be able to go beyond creating video games. Every year, we donate our time and money to support the causes that are important to our teams around the world.

We’re also committed to choosing local, independent and ethical wherever possible, and are always looking for ways to do more.

The planet 2
We value
The planet

When it comes to being environmentally friendly, the video games industry has got a long way to go. And we’re not perfect, but we’re trying pretty hard.

Since 2021, we’ve been working with consultants to reduce our carbon footprint, and offset what we can’t control. In 2024, we took this a step further and hired an Environmental, Social and Governance-master, who’s helping MPG to level-up our efforts and put the Planet firmly at the centre of our plans.

Fingers crossed, we can teach the rest of the industry a thing or two along the way too.

We are Multiplayer

What does Multiplayer mean to us?

We asked our team to describe MPG in 3 words and there were some clear winners - fun, people and passionate. The most important underlying message was how much our team values inclusivity, and from this, our motto ‘We are Multiplayer’ was born.

It’s unique, open to interpretation and a great conversation-starter at parties.

For our internal teams, it represents how we are diverse and inclusive, collaborative team players, multi-disciplined and considerate of our impact beyond MPG.

Externally, it demonstrates our commitment to multiplayer expertise, that we are a positive influence on the video games industry, and our ability to embed within our partners’ teams, however they need us.
